Mera peak is one of the most popular of Nepal’s 18th ” Trekking Peaks”. From the trekker, the walk from Lukla through the Sherpa country of the remote Hinkhu valley is an unforgettable experience, offering superb scenery, and abundant wildlife -including rumoured sightings of the legendary Yeti. About 700 foreign visitors climb the (6654m) Mera peak each year, an achievement that requires mountaineering skills and a special permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association. The altitude of Mera Peak is (6654m) above the sea level; Mera peak was an almost overlooked mountain to the east of the main Khumbu trekking trails. It is situated in the Everest region in a remote valley; Mera peak is a non-technical mountain. It is suitable for anyone of average or above average fitness wishing to fulfil the dream of a high Himalayan summit or those with a yearning for adventure. When you stand upon the summit, spread before you will be an unbelievable panorama of peaks such as Mt. Everest, Makalu & hundreds of other beautiful mountains. We follow the original Everest expedition route at the trailhead from Lukla, cross spectacular gorges and visit the Peak before entering Sherpa regions of Solu Khumbu, the wilderness of Hinku Valley. This is a fascinating trek in itself. Ample time for acclimatization is allowed en route to our base camp on the Mera La (Pass). The return to Kathmandu is easy for your plane will get back to the wonderful Sherpa areas and the gigantic Himalayas.
Mera peak climbing program
Day 1: On your Arrival, Nepal Fair Step Trek’s represent will well- come to you with Garland/ Khata and transfer to Hotel.
Day 2: city Sightseeing in Kathmandu( Kathmandu Darbar square , historical place and visit to living Goddess Kumari, Pasupati Nath and Baudhha Nath; famous world heritages sites Hindu temple and Buddha Stupa )
Day 3: Fly to Lukla(2800m) 25 minute. Trek – Paiyna (2730m).Walking time: 5- 6 h, ↑440m, ↓550m overnight camp (B,L,D)
Day 4: Trek Paiyan-Khari La-Pagngom (2800m).Walking Time:6-7h↑450m,↓410m overnight camp (B,L,D)
Day 5: Trek Pangom-Najingdingma (2600m). Walking Time: 7h, ↑486m, ↓686m overnight camp (B,L,D)
Day 6: Trek Najingdingma-Khola Kharka (4200m). Walking Time: 7h, ↑1520m, ↓120m. Overnight camp (B, L,D)
Day 7: Trek Khola Kharka-Tashin Ongma(2380). Walking Time: 6-7h, ↑720m,↓1200m. Overnight camp (B, L, D)
Day 8: Trek Tashin Ongma – Kote(4180m). Walking Time: 4h, ↑600m, ↓150m. overnight camp (B,L,D)
Day 9: Trek Kote -Thagnak(4380m). Walking Time: 4h,↑200m. overnight camp (B,L,D)
Day 10: Trek Thagnak-Khare(5000m). Walking Time: 4h,↑800m,. overnight camp (B,L,D)
Day 11: Acclimatization day
Day 12: Trek Khare – Mera Base Camp/ High Camp (5415m). Walking Time: 4/6h, ↑415/600m. overnight camp (B,L,D)
Day 13: Climb High camp -summit (6461m) -Khare. Walking Time: 9-10h,↑661m,↓1500m. Overnight camp (B,L,D)
Day 14: Spare summit or contingency day
Day 15: Trek Khare- kote .Walking Time: 7h,↓1000m. Overnight camp (B,L,D)
Day 16: Trek Kote – Thuli Kharka (4610m) Walking Time: 7h, ↑1000m↓600m. overnight camp (B,L,D)
Day 17: : Thuli Kharka -Lukla via Zatrwa La(4610m) Walking Time: 9h,↑100m,↓1850m. Overnight camp (B,L,D)
Day 18 Fly to Kathmandu Transfer to hotel (B)
Day 19: Leisure day in Kathmandu (if would like to shorter the trek you may depart this day).
Day 20: Transfer to international air airport
